A LA Card Monkey!

You may have noticed that Shirley has a blog Challenge called A LA Card monkey!  I just love the name!!!  So of course I had to try it out

So here is the sketch that we had to work with! I love the red boots on this little Piglet!

So how this works is you take the sketch and make a card from it.  This week its a Birthday Theme

And here is what I came up with

I used the stamp set Take a Spin for this sparkly little number!  The background is done with heat and stick powder and I also embossed it to add dimension.  I used Lucky Limeaide and Wisteria Wonder for my colours.

The really cool thing is the spinner works!  So fun!

I Missed the Last Week But................

Not a great week for me and I missed the deadline for Shirley's Blog hop :o(

I thought I would share with you what I came up with anyway!

I love snow globes and my daughter collects them so she will love this card for sure

The glitter makes it hard to take a great picture but I so love this card!
The base is Lucky Limeaide  then I used a piece of DSP from Letters to Santa.  The next layer is Pink Pirouette and I ran that through the polka dots embossing folder on the Big Shot.

I used the Snow globe stamp set stamped in Marina Mist/
I used Dazzling Diamonds on all the snow in the cup and added Mica Flakes so you can shake up the Snow Globe.
Then I took the Large Scallop Circle punch and punched out a scallop in Glitter Paper then used the 1 3/4 Circle punch to create the scallop boarder around the Treat Cup.
I Then took a piece of Early Espresso Satin Ribbon and tied a bow around the two layers and used the Jewellery  Punch to punch out One Pink and two silver Glitter Paper images.  I used Stampin Write Markers to make the Glitter paper Match my project!
I stamped Merry from Tiny Tags and tied all three to the bow with linen thread from stampin UP!

Inside I used the scallop boarder punch with the DSP to create an accent at the bottom of the WW card stock and Stamped a saying that is non Stampin Up that I have had around forever.  I also distressed the edges inside my card to add dimension

Hope you enjoyed it!

The Draconean - An Immortals Gift!

Friday was the release of Jake and Luke Reaumes second book in the Draconean Trilogy.  Jayden and Presley were lucky enough to go to the book release and get their first edition signed copies!  Jayden has been waiting for this book for quite awhile and was so super excited to go and see the boys again!  He was honored earlier in the year when Jake and Luke were at Aberarder and gave their inspirational message of how they wrote and published this book at such a young age.  Jayden got to introduce them and tell the school about the book.

So go an get your copy at the Book Keeper or on Amazon!

Wednesday Winter Blog Hop Week 5!

Its snowing!!  Yaaaaa!  And perfect to post my Wednesday Winter Blog Hop Posts
You have to go over to Shirley's blog and check out the cute fabric owls she created!  LOVE them!!

If you have something to post, please add yourself to this fun hop!
You can join by using the linky at the bottom, I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with this week

Anyway on to my creations for the week.

This card was created with a Non-Stampin Up! Stamp for the main image of the sled.  I love how the music notes and words are right on the sled.  The skis are a separate stamp set so I stamped them and tore the bottom then used two way glue and Dazzling Diamonds for snow.  The Back ground of the main image is Crumb Cake and I stamped Whisper White snow flakes and sponged the edge to create dimension.  The presents are cut from Glitter Paper and the ribbons are punched from the triple layer punch.  The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.
Teeny Tiny Wishes completes the card with the Merry Christmas Stamp.
On this Version I added the new Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade coming soon in the new Mini!!!!
Oh almost forgot - my fav paper from the scrapbook kit in the Holiday Mini!!

The next card I made this week was found on the Stampin Up Website in the videos
You can see the shine to the white back ground paper -- I used glossy white card stock and ran it through the big shot with the Snow Burst embossing folder.  So cute!

The card base is Basic Black and I used the Ornament punch to create the window and then placed first the Trim in silver and then layered with Red Glitter Paper to fill in the ornament window.

Hope you have a Snowtastic week!

Post #4 Wednesday Winter Blog Hop

Well I can't sleep and I was feeling inspired sooooo how about a 4th Post for the blog hop this week?
Feel free to join in on all the fun with the link at the bottom of this post and don't forget to check out Shirley's blog for all the details on the blog hop!  There is a special surprise this week so be sure to check out what Shirley came up with!! So stinking cute!

I have had this card in my head for awhile now and I know exactly who will be receiving it too!  I know she will love it!

I am so loving this card!!!  The background frame idea is from Darlene at Darlene Designs.  I added all the snowy details and the Santa Owl!
I used the Owl punch, the Snow Flake punch, and the Doily triple layer punch.  The Santa hat is from the Build a Bear Christmas Big Shot die.
This card is soooooo sparkly with Dazzling Diamonds, but again the lighting tonight is not picking up on it all

Each snowflake is covered in Dazzling Diamonds and so is the snow on the tree branch.  The Phrase at the bottom is from Four the Holidays and I just tore the ww card stock and sponged in bashful blue then added DD with two way glue.  I added some Bashful Blue snowflakes to the inside to add more background details to the card. He is just so cute!

Have a great day!

Week Four Wednesday Winter Blog Hop -Post #3

Good Evening!  Here is my third post this week for Shirley's Winter Blog Hop!

This card is not my design though
I saw a card on Stampin Connection - a site for Demo's only! And I had to make one immediately!
So here is my take on a card designed by Donna

I was having a hard time catching the sparkle of this card tonight for some reason but the ornaments  from Merry and Type are  heat embossed with iridescent Ice and then I used Pink Pirouette and blender pens to colour in the open areas on the ornaments.  I Stamped the phrase from Snow Swirled inside and out.  The Layers are WW, then Pink Pirouette the base in Always Artichoke.
It is much prettier in person.  I may try in the daylight tomorrow to see if I can capture the true sparkle on this very pretty card!

Wednesday Winter Blog Hop Week 4

Can you believe we are in week four already for Shirley's Winter Blog Hop??  Time is flying but lets enjoy this time together and get creative.

To start at the beginning of the hop click here to go to Shirley's Blog!  And join us with your creation!  Shirley has a special treat for  someone this week so go on over and see what it is!  To say that its stinking cute is does not even begin to tell the story on this!

Ok so I kind of made a few cards this week for the hop!  So I am posting one today and one later in the week so check back!  And I would love to see what you create too so please click the button at the end of this blog post and join this weeks hop!

So here is one of the cards for this weeks Blog Hop!

I started by cutting a piece of Regal Rose to card front size and ran it through the Big Shot with one of Stampin' Ups Textures Plates to create the swirled design on the card stock.  Next I spritz with Shimmer Mist in Vanilla.  I cut two pieces of Whisper White card stock and stamped the smallest with Versa Mark and the Christmas Tree image from Snow Swirled.  I then heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I distressed the edge with the multi purpose tool kit and sponged with Basic Black ink, then sponged around the tree with Garden Green ink.
I stamped the saying to the larger WW card stock piece and distressed the edge of this layer as well.

Next I took embroidery thread and used it to create a gift like effect on the card front.  I tied a bow and added Mini jingle bells!  I am loving these things!
I then used Regal Rose to sponge around the entire card front and back.
Added basic rhinestones to add more bling to the tree.
I stamped the saying from Snow Swirled inside the card and added snowflakes that I stamped off. And did the same for the envelope

Hope you enjoyed the first card of the week for this hop!

Happy 19th Birthday Kyra!

My beautiful "other" daughter turned 19 this weekend -- I cannot believe these girls growing up like this!

Kyra is a HUGE fan of my crafty cards -- I think she gets one for every holiday!   She was the recipient of my pop up halloween card and here is the card I made for her birthday.  My daughter said it was the best card I have ever made -- Not sure I agree with that but I love her enthusiasm!

Here it is!  I do love it but how do you not love the bling???   I started with Pear Pizzaz and ran it through the big shot with a sizzix embossing folder.  Then I used Versa Mark on the design - which I would probably just add to the folder next time but I was winging it! I used heat and stick  powder and then dazzling diamonds.  I then cut a piece of Wisteria Wonder and used Wisteria Wonder on the edges as well as the ticket punch in the corners.  I used versa mark and wisteria Wonder ink to stamp the Take a Spin Stamp, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I ran that through the two scallop squares die on the Big Shot.  I added the bow and placed the stamp image layers over with dimensionals with tombow added to them to adhere to the bling!

Here is what the inside  looks like.  I used the glitter paper and scallop edge boarder punch to add more bling inside.

And the card again with the Envelope.

Kyra had a great birthday and she loved the card so that made my day too!

Winter Wednesday Blog Hop!

That was a very quick week!  And here we are, it's time again for Shirley's Blog hop!   Love these things they are just so inspiring and I have learned so much from all of the talented ladies who post!
You can start the hop at Shirley's site.  You can also join the hop at the bottom of my post.  You will see pictures of everyone who has posted so far - but check back all week as you can post anytime during the week.
Anyway on to my card.  I actually have a card and a gift project to share with you this week.
First the card.
I was inspired by K.Werner designs but I changed it up and made it Stampin Up -- I LOVE how it turned out.  Now the problem who will receive this one????
So I started with Crumb Cake card stock cut at 8x11 and folded at 5 1/2.  I used the corner rounder to round the outer corner.
Next I used the ornament pattern from Letters to Santa to make the first strip of DSP on the left.  I took a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and cut a piece 7x1 1/2  Next the fun part!   I punched out circles with the 3/4 punch from the Letters to Santa paper and ran them through the xyron and attached them to my Blushing Bride creating a whole new DSP .  I used the Scallop Boarder punch to add a small edge to the layering.
Here is closer look at the circle punch DSP.
Next I cut a piece of Early Espresso and Heat Embossed with White the Christmas saying Welcome Christmas into your heart from Heard from the Heart.  I used the Crop-a-dile to make a hole in the end of the piece and tied some retired glittery ribbon .  I popped the whole thing up on Stampin Dimensionals .  Then I used Versa Mark and randomly stamped Season Greetings from Four the Holidays.  Then I distressed the Edges with Early Espresso of the entire card and the inside panel.
Here is the inside - I stamped the ornaments from Merry and Type and continued with the Old Olive Scallop Boarder as well.  I also stamped the same image on the envelope - because you have to decorate the envelope too right?

So for my extra treat this week  I made a little gift for a secret santa or stocking or just to say hey I was thinking of you. These can be changed up to be for any occassion!  I have created over 30 of these but I will just show you a couple  I think I have taken up enough of cyber space for one post!

Hmmm what could these be holding?

Cute! And fun to make too!
How cool!  Lip Balm inside! Now who does not love lip balm?  This could also work for lipstick, candy if its the correct size, perfume, breath spray -- I know some special people who will be receiving these this year!

Hope your week is Glittery fun!

Request

Hello Stampers!

I have a small request.  A fellow demonstrator has requested some cards be sent to her husband to cheer him up.  He stamps!!!!  Can you believe it?  And he donates all his cards to the church for others -- he recently underwent a bone scan to see if he has a reoccurrance of Cancer.  He is firefighter and worked all through his last treatment - but he is just not feeling well - sleeping a lot -and they are fearing the worst.  She thought it would help him with his depression if her received some cards.  I think we should send him A LOT of cards -- who wants to help me?  Contact me and I will e-mail you their info to send a card to him.

Thanks so much

Masculine? Maybe not!

Hello all!  We had a bit of snow!  I love snow but my body hates the cold.  I thought I would take a step away from my Christmas Preparations and try and make a Masculine card.  A friend of mine from Stampin' Connection is hosting a Masculine card swap- at first I thought no, but then I was thinking I really should challenge myself and being such a girly girl - masculine cards do not come easy to me.
And.................  apparently they still don't HAHA!  I will try again though I have until January so I would hope with enough trial and error I will be able to come up with something spectacular!
So here is my first attempt
Although they are not very masculine..  I LOVE how they turned out.  I used French Foliage from Stampin Up to create these two slightly different cards.  And I used the Colour Coach ( LOVE THIS TOOL)  to start my colour palate for this card.  The base is Cajun Craze -- I am not a real orange fan but I gotta tell you this has got to be one of my new favs!  The next layer is Baja Breeze and the top layer is naturals ivory.
Stampin' up Inks are Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Old Olive and Early Espresso.

Hope you like them!
Close up of Card with Bow to show the sentiment stamped and then punched out with the jewelry punch.  So cute!  I tied the punch to the ribbon with linen thread.
Inside of Bow card.  The inside of the torn card is plain with the same leaf stamped in Cajun Craze.
Torn edge of pearl card with the French phrase from French Foliage stamped several times on the Baja Breeze.  This was also stamped randomly on the back ground of the Naturals Ivory.

Christmas Blog Hop! Week Two!

Did you check out all the exciting projects last week during Shirley's Christmas Blog Hop?   I know I did and WOW!  Such amazingly talented ladies out there.  I am so blessed to be included in the group! You can to just make a Christmas item 80% Stampin' Up!  and join our hop!
You can check out Shirley's blog here.

I have been busy making tags and cards and getting ready for the holiday season.  And here is what I came up with this week.

I started with a Tempting Turquoise Card Base, and I ran it through the Big Shot with the Scallop Circle Die .Next I repeated the process with WW and Vellum Card Stock.   I used Whisper White Ink and White embossing powder mixed with Dazzling Diamons to heat emboss the snow flakes on the Vellum.  You have to be careful to move your heat gun around a lot when doing this on Vellum as you can easily burn the Vellum.
Next I Used the outer edge of my WW scallop circle ( the part that is left over from cutting the scallop)  to sandwich the Vellum in between it and the Card front to create the snowy window.  I used t
I added a saying from Snow Swirled ( and the snowflakes)   and punched it out with the decorative label punch and repeated in Real Red to add dimension.  I sponged the edges of the card stock with Crumb Cake.  Added some bling and some Dazzling details to the center of the snowflakes for even more Sparkle!
I tied a mini jingle bell to the center of the Real Red Bow with linen thread.
On to the inside!   I used the small snowflake from Snow Swirled to add texture around the WW scallop.  I used crumb cake to sponge the edges of the WW scallop and used the saying from Snow Swirled .
I really liked this card and can see a few people receiving it for Christmas!

Now its your turn.

Christmas Blog Hop!

Shirley, over at look at my cute stuff, has done it again!
Christmas Blog Hop!

You guys know how much I love Christmas - the cooking, baking, hunting for a tree, making amazing gifts!!!  So you knew I had to be part of this hop!

So I am working on tags for Christmas right now so this will be my first post

Wouldn't you just love to be able to put this cute card on your Christmas Packages?
I Started with WW card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Top Note die from Stampin Up!  Then I used the polka dots embossing folder to add Texture to the top Note.  Next I Used the Two Scallop Square die from Stampin Up! and created the second layer in Real Red Card Stock.  Then I took a piece of WW and stamped one of the snowman images from Snow Much Fun on each of the Tags.
I coloured the image first with my Dry styled aqua painter and Bashful Blue ink to add a snowy look to my snowmen.
Then I used Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive Stampin Write markers to colour in everything but the hat.  I used Water colour wonder crayons and a Blender Pen for the hat.
Then I stamped Merry Christmas from Forest Festivities on a scrap of paper.  I used the square punch to create the tail on the banner and rolled the opposite end to make it look like a scroll.  I added a mini silver Brad and sponged the edges of the Banner with Bashful Blue ink.
Next I took my crop-a-dile and created a hole for my "ribbon"  Which is a piece of our Cute Christmas material!

Of course there is a dazzling diamonds snowbank in the background of the snowman too!

I just love these cute little tags!  And I hope you do too!

Glittery Hugs Kathryne

PS  this is just a different take with the other image from Snow Much Fun and some Real Red Grosgrain ribbon.

Now I know you want to join in on our fun so you can!!
Just post anything Christmas/winter and it needs to be 80% Stampin up!
Get your linky by checking out Shirleys Blog or link to mine as well.

Cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with!  So very very exciting!
