Happy New Year!!
I hope everyone had a fabulous time over the holidays! We certainly did! The highlight was spending time with family and FINALLY meeting my new Sister-in-Law to be Marnie! LOVE HER! Marnie has two children Cohen and Landon and they are just as wonderful! So now I get to add a new niece and a new nephew to my list!! Very exciting.
Here were are in 2012 and the first A LA Card Monkey for the year. This is a new challenge for me, as I have only participated once but it is run my non-other than Shirley and Terry so how can I go wrong?
This is the sketch we had to work with and Fresh Start was the theme. One of my resolutions this year is to make more Male type cards. So this is my Fresh Start Card
So I started out with the idea that I wanted to use the new framelits from the Occassions Mini which starts today! YAAAA! as the center raised center. I looked through my stamps and was astonished to find I had very few that you could call Masculine! Then my fingers found Not So Seriously - and it all came together.
I used Scraps of DSP from Well Worn and Letters to Santa to create the quilt like pattern in the center. I just used snail and attached them to a piece of scrap VV and cut both out at the same time with the Framelit. I used Always artichoke for the larger framelit and VV for the Dog Stamp.
I coloured the dogs with Stampin Pastels and Blender Pens.
The sentiments inside and out are from Not So Seriously too.
I don't know the sayings in this set just crack me up! Although my kids will tell you I am a little cracked already anyway!
Check out the rest of the challenge here
